Why can't shoppers use discount codes in checkout?

When a shopper receives an upsell discount from Propel Upsells, they go to checkout for a discounted “draft order” created by Propel Upsells.

This “draft order” checkout is a bit different from normal checkout and does not support discount codes.

This is a restriction in Shopify and unfortunately not something we have control over.
