Why aren't some parts of my site (e.g., Review apps, video clips, Shop buy button, etc) being recorded?

Some applications on storefronts load within HTML elements called “iFrames” or are rendered via “shadow roots.”

iFrames function as special windows that load other websites inside the current webpage. Applications utilizing iFrames include review apps, embedded media like Youtube videos, and social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Due to browser security and privacy restrictions, scripts—including session recording scripts—cannot access elements within iFrames. Consequently, these appear as grey or black boxes in recordings.

Similarly, elements rendered via “shadow roots” technically exist outside the page, making their contents inaccessible to recording scripts.
