What does a 'JavaScript error' event mean in the Shopper Actions box?

A JavaScript error indicates that code running in your shop encountered a problem it couldn’t resolve. According to the knowledge base, “A JavaScript error will usually not affect the shopper’s experience.”

However, there are exceptions. In some cases, these errors can signal serious issues like broken apps or theme widgets that may impact sales negatively.

To investigate JavaScript errors:

  1. Visit your shop and open your browser’s JavaScript Console

  2. Look for lines displayed in red in the console — these are typically JavaScript errors

  3. Note the error message and the filename causing the error

  4. Share this information with your web developer for resolution
